The Riverside Gifted classes will start to debate with one another, doing the following

1) Learning about logical fallacies and how to identify them not only in your current opponent, but also in public speakers such as politicians.
2) Debating social issues with one another in order to foster intellectual growth and speaking skills
3) Debating for a topic that you disagree with (Ex: debating against gay marriage, when you are for it) in order to be more open-minded an able to counter anticipated thoughts

Debates will be amongst your own grade level, and against other grades.


Possible topic examples:

Gay Marriage,
Leaglization of Marijuana,
Wal-Mart,
School Uniforms,
etc.
